One of the changes I have made to try and minimize waste in my life was to change to a safety razor.

Instead of using those ugly, plastic disposable razors or even embedded-in-plastic disposable blades, change to a safety razor and the only thing you have to throw away is a straight blade. (You can even recycle this)

I bought my safety razor online from a mutual greenie, who found a handful of antique razors in a second-hand shop. Maybe you are lucky and an heirloom razor is still somewhere in your house, but if you need to buy I would really suggest checking out this online shop. www.bundubeard.co.za

Jaco from Bundubeard has an awesome arrangement of safety razors available for men and women and some are really affordable. (Not to mention that you will save a lot of money shaving this way either way!)

I have been buying blades from Dischem stores, but they only have one brand. Recently Jaco suggested I buy a multi-pack that he compiles and I am currently testing out some different blades. I would strongly advise this so you can pick the perfect blade for yourself.

‘n Veiligheids-Skeermessie

Een van die veranderinge wat ek gemaak het in my poging om minder vullis te maak, was om oor te skakel na ‘n veiligheids-skeermessie.

In plaas van om die plastiek, weggooibare messies te gebruik, hoef ek nou net ‘n enkele lemmetjie weg te gooi. Die lemmetjies kom verpak in ‘n dun papier lagie en in ‘n boksie van 5. Soms is die boksies verpak in ‘n dun plastiekvelletjie, maar dit is steeds baie minder vullis as wat ek voorheen gemaak het om nie eers te praat van die hoeveelheid geld wat ek spaar nie.
