When we arrived here at Bakoorvlakte, we inherited a Goose. She was laying eggs and recently got broody and sat on the infertile eggs. This was just too sad to me and I went out and bought her a gander. It took her a good two weeks to get over her broodiness. Even after I removed her eggs from the nest, she would continue to sit on her empty nest. The gander started to explore a little bit, found her on the nest and started spending more and more time in her vicinity.
She finally left the nest and the two are now walking the yard together. This makes me really happy. I am hoping that she will get broody again and we will have some goslings before the end of summer…
